My human and I were very busy this week and didn't have much time to add anything to this blog. So my human was playing with Photoshop and this is what she came up with on short notice.

The December 2007 Flood, Lewis County

My friend Ken, who works with my human, took these photos while down helping his family who was flooded out of their home. So many pets, livestock and humans were injured, displaced and or died in this storm. During this holiday season of giving, it would be good to help those close to home by giving to one of many relief agencies or by giving your time to volunteer.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Raindrops on mosses, and cold dog nose kisses, to chase after "bunnies" and find neighbor kittens. To sleep on down blankies, to run and to dig, these are a few of my favorite things.

Waiting for the mice to start the parade

It has been a very, VERY wet couple of days. Many animals and their human friends have been displaced from their homes because of the rain. I just hope that all are safe, and warm. Many humans have put their own lives on the line to safe their animal friends and help to find their humans. I've been very blessed to have a great human who has been looking out for me to make sure I'm safe, warm and have food. We carry extra in the car in the emergency kit. And I want to thank my human friend Dee for moving my bed before my human and I got to the office. If she had not, my bed would have been really wet and I would not have a comfortable place to sleep. So for her and others out their helping their human and animal friends here are some photos of things when it was sunny and warm.

Last of the weekend snow

There was just enough snow to make my paws cold. But it was wonderful to warm up in front of the woodstove with my human drinking hot tea and reading. I slept much of the day which is not bad for a Sunday afternoon. Hope everyone had a restful weekend and a good week ahead.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

It wasn't much but enough for me to explore. I didn't want to put my coat on so I went back inside pretty quickly. But I did have fun seaching through the snow. I just can't wait till there is enough in the mountians so I get to go snowshoe with my human. She wears the snowshoes, I have my own boots to keep my feet warm.

Hope all are safe with the snow and it getting dark. Stay warm, dry and drink cocoa. I get chicken broth instead.

Only the best of bones,

Nigel
