Help for New Salem

My human and family has been to Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site, about 2 miles South of Petersburg and about 20 miles Northwest of Springfield, is a reconstruction of the village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early adulthood. The Blagojevich Administration's has begun to close down the Illinois state parks including shortening the days New Salem is open. Eventually is will be closed if the public does not step up and say enough.
Of all the things humans' do that I don't understand...why take parks away. Humans are able to learn about history, enjoy the outdoors, be happy, spend time with family friends including their animal friends...why take that away. There are so few places left where nature is allowed to just be. Don't let this be another freedom taken from us. Humans and animals have so few in these days.
If you feel moved to do so, go the website below and let yourself be counted. I would, but for some reason dogs' can't vote...probably something to do with thumbs. But for you humans...you can.

Only the best of bones,
Nigel
